Steven Miller is Data Maestro, Global Leader Academic Programs, IBM Analytics Group. He is collaborating with academia, industry and government leading efforts to entrench data literacy fundamentals into K-18 education. He advocates for new undergraduate, advanced degree, and executive education programs to build the robust talent pipeline of data enabled professionals from the citizen analyst, to the data scientist and data engineer, to the chief data officer. He leads IBM sponsorship of big data & analytics education conferences and analytics curriculum development awards to top faculty worldwide. Mr. Miller joined IBM in 2001 as part of the acquisition of Informix Software, a leading provider of mission critical database systems. Since joining IBM he has held multiple roles in product management, product marketing, and business & go-to-market strategy. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, and is a member of the IEEE and serves as co-chair of the IEEE Big Data Initiative Education Committee.
