It must be big data's fault
Some people mistakenly blame big data for failures in their results. If the outcome is bad, it must be big data’s fault, right? Wrong!
You can have the right data and get the analytics wrong. You also need to know how to apply results and take action on them. You can have all of the right data and run the right analytics, but if you don’t feed the results back into your operational processes, you won’t be fully leveraging the data to drive positive change. That’s not a big data failure, that’s an operational issue. This is where major opportunities lie in the near future: going beyond implementing big data for big data’s sake and focusing on driving desired business outcomes.
