Keys to the Match: IBM Big Data and Analytics Powering Predictions

Roland Garros, also known as the French Open, is one of the premier tennis tournaments in the world. IBM is the official technology sponsor of the event, now in our 28th year of providing products and services that run the gamut from developing the official website to providing hardware, software and services for capturing, storing, securing, analyzing and reporting.

One of the most visible elements -- and certainly one of the most engaging for spectators -- is the IBM SlamTracker and "Keys to the Match." We talked with Kenneth Jensen, managing consultant for predictive analytics, who developed the Keys to the Match program in 2011. Kenneth described how the program uses 41 million data points to determine the most important factors for each player. He also discusses how this technology was built upon years of expertise in working with businesses.
