Maximo helps Kuwait Oil reach production goals
Mohammed Husain is the Deputy Chairman and Deputy Managing Director for gas at Kuwait Oil Company. The Kuwait Oil Company is striving to achieve 4 million barrels per day of production by 2020 and maintaining that to 2030, also striving to have the capability of 4 billion gallons of gas by 2030. They created a fully integrated management system with a backbone of Maximo to make sure they have an integrated system. Access to information through the IBM solution has made it easier analyze data to make the proper decisions which can make the strategy happen at the end of the day.
My name is Mohammed Husain. I'm the Deputy Chairman and Deputy Managing Director for Gas for Kuwait Oil Company. We have the capability today to produce 2.85 million as KOC only in Kuwait itself. And with that capability of production, you have huge assets included with it. Kuwait Oil Company is striving to achieve 4 million barrels per day of production by 2020 and maintaining that to 2030 and also striving to have the capability of 4 billion of gas by 2030. And what we created a full integrated management system and with a backbone of Maximo existing in that one to make sure really we have that integrated system to ensure we succeed and really achieve the 2030 strategy we are trying to implement. Actually the challenges come from several elements. The first element is having the hydrocarbon really produce from the ground and the reservoir challenges by itself which are from the gas side. The second challenge is really we have on the resources side and making sure that we have the specialized and the proper resources within the organization itself. And the third challenge is really making sure that we can integrate the whole processes within the organization, building that collaboration throughout the organization and ensuring we can capitalize the technology available in the market. One thing which is when we built that when we had the backbone of the Maximo on this, this is the integration built in there. In fact, the access to information through the IBM solution has become easier, this will become more effective, and they have better to analyze the data itself and really can gain the proper decision making timely and really the way which this can make the strategy happen at the end of the day. The second thing, which is we feel really could help a lot in the complexity. it's really the collaboration became very clear among the whole people within the organization, the staff in the organization, that they really can have the one platform which they can collaborate on, they can communicate and they really can disseminate the information among themselves. Kuwait Oil Company is striving very strongly to make this happen at the end of the day. Again, with a company that's a partner like IBM, we feel that means something is possible. It's really implementable and really is a journey, we are taking a good partner with us to achieve at the end of the day.
