Big data for business in 2015
The competitive landscape in business has been data—with every business striving for more, better and faster data than the competition.
In 2015, the necessary data to gain a competitive advantage will be expanded to include big data. Big data will be discernibly different from legacy data in relational databases, and there will be wider adoption of scale-out technologies designed to accommodate this reality.
Precision in meeting current corporate objectives will also increase. This will manifest in many areas of business, but perhaps foremost in customer service initiatives. Because big data is fueled by sensor and machine data, it can be used to track and predict customer behavior at deeper levels.
