The road to content management: Paved by IBM and Box
When was the last time you drove three hours to Houston for sushi?
For me, it was last week—but technically, I didn’t drive to Houston for the sushi alone. What got me to drive from Austin to Houston was the Houston stop for the Box World Tour. Since the announcement of IBM's strategic partnership with Box, our companies have been on one of the most exciting road trips in the history of IBM.
The Enterprise Content Management (ECM) space is undergoing massive amounts of transformation. There’s movement of content management and secure content collaboration to the cloud. There is a need for hybrid infrastructures and mobile opportunities with Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiatives. And for the clients that are thinking further down the highway, they’re thinking about how to share and collaborate with external groups, such as partners, vendors and so on.
And all of these conversations have a natural pit stop where security becomes a focus and we talk about how IBM and Box are ensuring the highest levels of security for our clients’ content when its on the cloud.
There’s a great story to tell here and we wanted to make sure you heard it. It’s funny, because when you set out on a journey like this you realize that very quickly there’s a lot of distance between you and your starting point. You go far enough and you just want to call someone and say, “Hey, I’m in La Grange and you would not believe the progress we’ve made since we started this morning!”
So, this is me calling you to get you up to speed on what we’ve been up to. Everything from Enterprise Content Management integrations, the new Box Platform, security solutions and a few things that I’m running out of space to mention we’ve been doing as a part of the inaugural year of the partnership.
Please take a moment to register for our webinar on 6 April, 2015, “Together, Transforming Work in the Cloud” hosted by me and featuring Rand Wacker, VP Enterprise Product (Box) and Rich Howarth, VP ECM Products & Strategy (IBM). A question and answer session will follow the webinar and a replay will be made available shortly afterwards.
Also, be sure to visit our new IBM Enterprise Content Management and Box web page. Speaking of events, the next IBM Content 2016 Austin event is 21 April, 2016. Have you registered? Register for IBM Content 2016 Austin or find an event near you. I’ll be in Austin, and this time I’ll only have to drive 20 minutes for sushi.
