Daniel Hernandez, vice president of IBM Analytics, met with Dave Vellante in New York City on the eve of the 13 September taping of the Win with AI digital broadcast to share details on the extension of IBM Cloud Private for Data and the sponsorship of the StackExchange AI developer community. He explained the significance of the Hortonworks partnership and why OpenShift, IBM Cloud Private and IBM Cloud Private for Data are gaining momentum. As part of the Open Hybrid Architecture Initiative, users will be able to run the HortonWorks and IBM stack on OpenShift.

"There is not a single client I know of that are running workloads in a single stack. What do you do? If data is an imperative, you better run your data and analytics stack wherever you need to, and that means multicloud by definition. You’ve got a choice. You can say, I can port that workload to every distinct programming model and data stack or you can have a common data stack everywhere including multiple clouds and OpenShift. With the Hortonworks and IBM data stacks, we’ve got our common services, particularly around open metadata which means wherever that data is you’re going to know about it and you’re going to be able to control it."

This is one of six interviews on theCube you can watch to gain valuable insights from leaders and key clients who are on the journey to AI.
