Public Sector Watch at Insight: Education and healthcare applications roundtable


Welcome to Public Sector Watch at IBM Insight 2015, where we debate data and analytics issues affecting government, education and healthcare. The Watch is in Las Vegas this week for the premiere data and analytics conference, IBM Insight 2015. Our social VIPs attended the event and brought with them their unique perspectives from public and private sector backgrounds. Topics discussed include the similarities between healthcare and education technologies, shared challenges they face and impressions of the conference so far.

He is the chair of the #HealthIMPACT Forum. Blackman is the founder and Principal of Pulse + Signal. He is an influential and connected agent of change/innovation within the health care community and is very passionate about the intersection of media, technology and useful innovative concepts as it relates to the improvement of population and systemic health. He has been involved in traditional and digital campaigns for the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) focused on areas such as disease informatics, HIV/AIDS and diabetes. He is passionate about equipping high impact health professional clients for the next phase of innovation through focused branding and digital technology education. Bearden is the Director of Information Technology at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, Co-moderator #edtechchat. She manages all projects and initiatives involving hardware, software, voice/data systems, and instructional technology for a PS-12 school with 2 campuses . She is a visionary leader and has championed the adoption of innovative classroom technologies, including BYOD, Google Apps for Education, social media, iPads, Chromebooks, and Makerspaces. Skilled at building broad community support and generating positive publicity for technology initiatives. Gray is an Apple Distinguished Educator and an education technology and social media consultant. She is also the co-founder of the Global Education Conference. Lucy is an experienced consultant and observer of educational innovation, working with a variety of people and institutions on modernizing education. She is a frequent speaker and workshop presenter at conferences, and her projects include professional development coaching, virtual conference development, strategic planning for schools, and consultation to companies and non-profits. Lucy has a strong voice within social media and has developed a vast professional network which brings added value to her projects.
